However, it is important to note that some national churches began separately from the AG USA. Most national churches which hold membership in the WAGF emerged from the missions efforts of the AG USA. Founding delegates represented various national Pentecostal churches that were historically and theologically connected to the AG and in fraternal relationship with each other. The WAGF (originally called World Pentecostal Assemblies of God Fellowship) was established on August 15, 1989, at the International Decade of Harvest Conference. This article introduces readers to the WAGF, providing an account of its origins and development over the past two decades.
